Meta Model

For developers of AASes an instruction exist, which contain all details of rules and standard for the realisation of the information within the AAS. This rules and standard is named meta modell. It does not describe a concrete AAS but the allowed elements and its relation among each other.

Metamodell

The asset administration shell can appear in different manifestations,

as file (e.g. as result of an planning process or as manager of all documents, which are provided by a product) --> passive asset administration shell or type 1
as server, which can be called by third parties via an interface (e.g. REST or OPC UA) --> reactive asset administration shell or type 2
as autonomous component, which interact among each other vie I4.0 language (e.g. during a bidding process) --> proactive asset administration shell or type 3
